Mayawati Ashram

Mayawati Ashram is situated amidst scenic surroundings and it attracts large number spiritualists from all over the world. Swami Vivekanand decided to shift the publication office of 'Prabuddh Bharat' from Madras to Mayawati during his visit to Almora in 1898. Mayawati Ashram is also known as Advaita Ashram.

Pancheswar Dam

Pancheshwar is located on the foothills of the Himalayan ranges on the India-Nepal border. Pancheswar is famous for fishing during the months from April- July and September & October in river of Maha Kali, Sardu and Sarju .Mahaseer or the Great Head is a fish that is considered to be the ultimate fishing trophy for those fishing in these regions. While on this exciting fishing trip you also enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding forests, streams and the high mountains. You also visit some temples in the region that are dedicated to the Gods of the mountains. Abbott Mount

Situated at an elevation of 2018mts Abbott Mount offers a peaceful and picturesque environment. Abbott Mount remains covered with the sheets of snow during winters. The enchanting snow clad Himalayan peaks can be seen from Abbott Mount. It is located away from hustle bustle of the city and there are only 13 secluded cottages spread over this hill. Abbott Mount is situated in 8kms from Lohaghat offering tranquility with exquisiteness.

Meetha Reetha Sahib

Reetha Sahib is an important Sikh pilgrim centre. The Gurudwara is situated at the confluence of Lodhiya and Ratiya rivers, near village Deyuri. There are trees of Reetha (Sapindus emarginatus) in the Gurudwara premises, have become sweet due to the miraculous touch of the Guru. Reetha is served as “prasad” in Reetha Sahib Gurudwara.


Almora is a picturesque place located in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand famous for its magnificent beauty, panoramic view of the Himalayas, rich cultural heritage, exquisite wildlife, unique handicrafts and delicious cuisine. It is located at a height of 5,400ft above sea level and is spread across a 5-km ridge atop Kashaya Hill. The picturesque landscape of Almora attracts hundreds of tourists each year.Almora has been developed by the Chand Rajas and then maintained and further developed by the British. It is known as the ‘Switzerland of India’ and the place has also been made famous by Swami Vivekananda who meditated in the region. It is situated 119kms from Lohaghat.


It is situated at a distance of 109kms from Lohaghat at an elevation of 2,285mts above sea level. Mukteshwar got its name from a 350year old temple Mukteshwar Temple whose presiding deity is great Lord Shiva. The top of the mountain on which Mukteshwar Dham is stood offers stupendous views of Himalayan range. Mukteshwar is a serene place with unspoiled natural beauty. It was developed by the Britishers as research and education institute (IVRI) in 1893.
