History

The temple was built by Chand rulers between the tenth and twelfth century AD. They were Rajput family who were the leaders of the Kumaon area. Baleshwar Temple is an astonishing portrayal of stone cutting. The sanctuary once had mind boggling highlights and an asylum with a mandap.
